Monday night Pac-10 one-liners

Sometimes a bye week can help you in more than one way. Arizona jumpedup to No. 9 in the AP Top 25 poll.

Arizona State currently ranks 111th in red-zone efficiency thisyear. Steven Threet‘s interceptions certainly aren’t helping.

On September 17th, California was smacked by a pistol-wielding Nevada squad 52-31. TheGolden Bears have had an extraweek of preparation to take on UCLA, who has mimicked the Wolfpack of Nevada by usingthe pistol offense to average over 262 rushing yards per game, good for tenth in the nation.

Despite missing the entire game this past weekend, UCLA quarterback KevinPrince will remain the Bruins’ starter. Backup quarterback played fairly well, gaining a total of 136 yards, a rushing score and zero turnovers.

For his dominant play against Stanford on Saturday, Oregon running back LaMichaelJames was named the National Player of the Week by twoorganizations.

Oregon State won its Pac-10 season opener against Arizona State on Saturday, highlighted by the play ofJacquizz Rodgers.

In what has been a relatively quiet loss, Southern California droppeda second straight game toWashington. (Did anyone else hear one of the three announcers mention that USC no longeris playing for a national title? I thought that was a given since they were banned from postseasonplay...)

Stanford looked great early against Oregon at Autzen Stadium, but failed to record a second-halfpoint against the Ducks.

Washingtonreally got to Lane Kiffin in its victory over USC. (I was so happy when thatball went through the uprights after Kiffin tried icing Husky kicker Erik Folk twice.)

Washington State entered the fourth quarter of Saturday’s game against UCLA tied at 28. The Cougars then let up14 points to the Bruins and lost 42-28.
