Report: Three Bruin starters suspended for Oregon game

It would be a fairly tall order for UCLA to knock off No. 2 Oregon with their full complement of starters at their disposal. Unfortunately, that apparently won’t be the case as a trio of No. 1s are reportedly out for the game.

The question is, which three?

According to the Los Angeles Times, and citing a source inside the program, at least three Bruin starters are expected to be suspended next week as a result of a violation of unspecified team rules. The report does not name the players involved, and gave no hints as to whether they come from the offensive or defensive side of the ball.

Head coach Rick Neuheisel could not be reached for comment by the paper, and an email sent by CFT to the school seeking confirmation of the report has not yet been answered.

The Bruins are coming off a 35-7 beating at the hands of Cal, a loss that ended a three-game winning streak in which UCLA had beaten their opponents by an average of 18 points per game. That modest streak was preceded by a 35-0 loss to Stanford.
