Ohio quarterback ‘Boo’ Jackson gets decked outside bar

Athens, Ohio, police were called to a campus-area bar last Friday night to break up a fight involving several members of the Ohio University football team and bar staff. Among the athletes involved was Bobcat starting quarterback Franshaw “Boo” Jackson, who was found on the ground unconscious when the police arrived.

According to the report released by the Athens Police Department Sunday, Jackson and other teammates attempted to “rush the south door of the bar in an effort to gain entrance for one or more people who were either underage or had no identification.”

The report then indicated that a skirmish broke out between the athletes and bar staff, who attempted to block the group from entering. It’s not known by police who threw the first punch, but it is known that Jackson got the wrong end of the one that counted.

The quarterback remained on the sidewalk until members of Southeast Ohio Emergency Medical Services arrived on scene and transported Jackson to O’Bleness Memorial Hospital. Jackson passed all initial tests for a concussion and, via Facebook, informed everyone of his stable condition.

“Just letting everyone know I’m good! Thank you for all the support and concerns,” the status said. “I’m home relaxin with family. Love you all!”

No arrests were made in the altercation and no additional suspensions or punishments have been pursued by coach Frank Solich, or the university, yet.
