Axe ready to fall on Indiana’s Bill Lynch

As they always do this time of the year, the coaching changes are coming fast and furious as the Big Ten is about to see its second head coach let go during the 2010 season.

Via press release, Indiana has called a press conference for five this evening as athletic director Fred Glass will discuss the future of the Indiana University football program.

According to the Indianapolis Star, and anyone with an ounce of brain matter, Glass will announce the dismissal of head coach Bill Lynch. Additionally, Lynch’s entire coaching staff will be let go as well.

The move by the Hoosiers comes as little surprise as rumors have swirled around Lynch for the last couple of seasons, and have picked up in intensity in the past couple of months.

If Lynch is indeed dismissed, he will finish his four-year IU tenure with a 19-30 record, including an abysmal 6-26 mark in conference play.
