Listed Irish starter at WR out of Sun Bowl

No, not the that starting receiver.

According to a series of tweets from Ben Ford of the Elkhart Truth, wide receiver Duval Kamara did not make the trip to El Paso and will sit out Notre Dame’s Sun Bowl tilt with Miami due to “personal reasons”. It’s not yet known what specifically led to the decision.

Kamara had been listed as the starter at one of the receivers on the pre-bowl depth chart. The senior had just 11 receptions during the regular season, but three of them went for touchdowns.

The Truth also notes that TJ Jones, fifth on the team with 22 receptions for 287 yards, was working with the first-team offense during Monday’s practice. Jones and John Goodman had been listed as co-backups to Kamara.
