Tate Forcier ruled ineligible for Gator Bowl

The roller coaster that is the last 12 months for Michigan’s Tate Forcier has yet another low point, unfortunately for both the player and the school.

According to a release issued by the school, the sophomore quarterback will sit out the Gator Bowl due to an issue or issues that are likely related to academics.

“The University of Michigan football program announced today that reserve sophomore quarterback Tate Forcier did not meet University standards and is ineligible to participate in the Gator Bowl,” the school said in a statement.

Forcier lost the starting job he held last year to Denard Robinson, but, given Robinson’s propensity of getting

dinged through the latter portion of the season, he served as an experienced for the times he was forced into action.

With Forcier out, the Wolverines will be left with just freshman Devin Gardner behind Robinson in a game that could decide Rich Rodriguez‘s fate at the school. Due to a back injury, the football program was/is hoping to get a medical redshirt for Gardner.

In other words, stay healthy Denard.
