Brandon Harris leaving The U for the NFL

It’s been expected that Brandon Harris would leave his remaining eligibility on the table and jump from Miami to the NFL.

Tuesday, that expectation became a reality.

In a press release, the cornerback officially announced that he will be entering the April draft.

“This decision is about what is best for me and my family at this point in my life,” said Harris in a statement. “I am confident that I can achieve all my goals at the next level and I am ready to begin that pursuit.

“I have grown up so much as a football player and as a man at the University of Miami. The relationships that I have built here with the players and coaches will be with me for the rest of my life. In addition to the team and University, I have to give credit to coach Shannon and coach McGriff, who were instrumental in my development.”

Harris, who has yet to pick an agent, started 32 of the 39 games he played at Miami, and was an All-ACC performer the past two seasons.
