Virginia DE Parr surprisingly jumps from Cavs to NFL

In a mildly surprising move -- to say the least -- Virginia defensive end Zane Parr has decided to give up his final year of eligibility for a shot at the NFL draft.

The school released a statement regarding Parr’s decision, and it doesn’t appear his head coach is in complete agreement with the move.

“I have expressed to Zane the benefits of staying at Virginia and pursuing his academic and athletic opportunities for his final season,” Mike London said in the statement. “In the end, Zane decided declaring for the draft and withdrawing from school to prepare for it is the course of action he wants to pursue. I wish him the best and appreciate his contributions to the program.”

Parr started 10 of the Cavaliers’ 12 games this season, and played in 30 games total during his time at Virginia.

Parr becomes the 16th confirmed underclassmen to make himself available for the April draft. We knew that, of course, because we clicked HERE.
