Liuget latest to leave Illini for NFL

The early attrition at Illinois continued Tuesday as, for the third time in two days, the Illini lost a starter to the NFL.

Defensive tackle Corey Liuget, ESPN by way of the Chicago Tribune is reporting, has decided to leave Champaign and make himself available for the upcoming draft. The school has yet to officially confirm the lineman’s departure, although that’s expected before the end of the week.

Liuget led the team with 12.5 tackles for loss, and was named to the All-Big Ten second team.

Earlier this week, both running back Mikel Leshoure and linebacker Martez Wilson declared they were foregoing their remaining eligibility for a shot at the NFL.
