Cobb sets sail from Kentucky for NFL

It’s been somewhat expected that Randall Cobb would take his leave of Kentucky following the conclusion of the 2010 season.

Unfortunately for the Wildcats, that is indeed the case.

The all-everything junior announced Thursday afternoon that he’s giving up his senior season of eligibility to enter the 2011 NFL draft.

In 2010, Cobb, who contributed as a wide receiver, quarterback, punt returner, kickoff returner and kick holder during his time in Lexington, broke the SEC single-season record for all-purpose yardage with 2,396 yards. For his efforts, Cobb was named a first-team All-American by the Associated Press as an all-purpose player.

Cobb has been projected as high as a late second-round pick in the April draft.
