‘Canes may have to go Fisch-ing for another coordinator

Earlier this month, new Indiana head coach Kevin Wilson lost his offensive coordinator when the same position at that assistant’s old job unexpectedly opened up.

Now, Al Golden may be on the verge of getting a very real sense of Wilson’s pain.

ESPN‘s Adam Schefter reported Monday that Jedd Fisch is on the list of candidates to replace Jeremy Bates as the offensive coordinator of the Seattle Seahawks. Fisch, of course, was hired by Golden last week to serve as Miami’s coordinator after spending last season as the Seahawks’ quarterbacks coach.

Upon being introduced as the Hurricanes’ new coordinator, Fisch said he would join the team once the Seahawks were done with their playoff run. Seattle lost over the weekend to the Chicago Bears, although Fisch had yet to move on to his new job.

Bruce Feldman of ESPN the Magazine, though, thinks this may be much ado about nothing; citing a source close to Fisch, Feldman tweeted Monday night that the coach is “100% committed to being Univ. of Miami’s offensive coordinator.”
