The $3 million bail put on Travis Brown, the man who shot three Southern Miss football players in November, has been reduced to $1.5 million, his attorney, Michael Crosby, said today.
Brown will remain in prison for probation from past charges.
On Nov. 19, Brown shot USM linebackers Martez Smith and Tim Grean, and defensive lineman Deddrick Jones outside a bar in Hattiesburg after an incident spilled outside. All three have since been released from the hospital, but Smith has been paralyzed from the waist down and is currently rehabbing.
Although all three young men are out of the hospital and able to move forward with their lives -- albeit with more difficulty -- we continue to keep them in our thoughts and prayers and hope that Smith is one day able to regain the use of his legs.
