Utes LB suspended; future at school uncertain

Following up on a story from Monday morning, Utah linebacker Nai Fotu has been indefinitely suspended from the Utes football team.

And, according to one report, his future with the program is extremely murky.

Fotu was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with driving under the influence. Yesterday, head coach Kyle Whittingham announced that the senior “has been suspended from our football team until further notice” and he won’t participate in spring practice.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports that, because of a previous run-in with the law in 2009 involving alcohol, Fotu’s future with the team is very much up in the air.

Fotu is/was expected to compete for a starting job after missing the entire 2010 season with a knee injury.
