Bug out: Arizona dismisses receiver

Last season as a junior, William “Bug” Wright had a solid season catching the football for Arizona.

Unfortunately, the wide receiver won’t be able to build on 2010 his senior season.

Wildcats head coach Mike Stoops confirmed to the Tucson Citizen that Wright has been dismissed from the football program for what appears to be repeated violations of unspecified team rules. In late November last year, Wright was suspended by Stoops, and apparently failed to take to heart whatever lesson was trying to be taught.

“Just a violation of team policies and rules,” Stoops told the paper Wednesday morning. “It’s been a chronic problem that hasn’t rectified itself.”

Last season, Wright tied for seventh in receptions (25) and was fifth in receiving yards (294). He also had two receiving touchdowns.
