An injury cost Louis Bland his junior season at Washington State last year. Now, an alleged off-field incident could prove even costlier for the linebacker.
Something called the Kitsap Sun is reporting that Bland was arrested early Saturday and charged with second-degree assault. The arrest occurred after an alleged physical confrontation with his girlfriend.
The paper reports that the charge is a Class B felony and is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
Upon learning of the arrest, head coach Paul Wulff suspended Bland indefinitely.
Bland took a redshirt last season after undergoing knee surgery. In 2008 and 2008, the junior started 11 of the 18 games in which he played. In those 18 games, he totaled three sacks and 13 tackles for loss.
