Another UNLV Rebel sidelined with academic issues

Just a week into spring practice, and UNLV head coach Bobby Hauck has been forced to deal with yet another academic issue involving a member of his Rebels football squad.

In a statement released by the school, Hauck announced that wide receiver Brandon Babineaux has been indefinitely suspended. As with the other two players, academics were behind the discipline.

“Brandon failed to live up to his academic responsibilities so he is suspended from being a part of this team,” Hauck said.

The sophomore-to-be played in two games last season.

Wide receiver Michael Johnson, UNLV’s leading receiver in 2010 with 51 receptions, and safety Mike Clausen were both sidelined recently because of academic issues.
