Keith Price might have leg up on younger Montana in UW QB race

And CFT’s Pac-12 spring coverage rolls on...

While Washington’s official spring game is still a week away, it appears that, at least for today, there is one quarterback who has a leg up on the competition when it comes to the task of replacing Jake Locker.

According to SportsPress Northwest, sophomore Keith Price had a solid scrimmage yesterday for the Huskies. And, if the decision were to be made today, it’s entirely likely that Price would get the starting nod over redshirt freshman Nick Montana.Officially, Price was 15-for-23 for 161 yards and two touchdowns and Montana was 13-for-19 for 86 yards during the scrimmage.

Of course, Montana is still very much in the thick of the quarterback race and could easily retake the lead at any time. Additionally, UW coach Steve Sarkisian has yet to announce one signal caller as the No. 1 so far this spring.

Perhaps fans will get a clearer idea as to who will be under center for the Huskies this fall -- either at the beginning of the spring game, or the end -- when the team takes the field next Saturday.
