Bob Stoops says Oklahoma doesn’t want any part of USC’s vacated title

If the BCS ever does decide to award the 2004 national title to another team after it was promptly taken away from USC for playing with an ineligible player -- running back Reggie Bush -- Auburn might actually have a fighting chance.

Oklahoma, who was thoroughly ended by the Trojans 55-19 during the 2005 Orange Bowl, has stated they want no part of a possible hand-me-down title.

"[The Sooners are] not claiming any championships” said coach Bob Stoops Wednesday night. Oklahoma finished the 2004 regular season undefeated before losing to USC.

In addition to Auburn, Utah also finished undefeated that season, although the Tigers finished No. 2 in the final Associated Press poll.
