Bobby Petrino’s son arrested on drunk-driving, drug charges

Late last week, Arkansas head coach Bobby Petrino was forced to dismiss a member of his football family after Anthony Oden was arrested on his second drunk-driving charge in just a little over the year.

Now, thanks to an incident very early Monday morning, Petrino has been forced to deal with a similar issue involving a member of his family.

According to the Associated Press, Dominic Petrino was arrested shortly after midnight today and hit with multiple drug and alcohol charges. The 23-year-old coach’s son was charged with driving while intoxicated, possession of marijuana, illegal possession of prescription drugs and possession of paraphernalia following a traffic stop in Huntingburg, Indiana.

A blood test revealed the presence of marijuana and prescription opiates in the younger Petrino’s system.

The arrested Petrino transferred to Arkansas from Arkansas Tech in the spring of 2009, and spent at least the 2009 season as a backup to the backup’s backup. The 5-11, 190-pound quarterback was listed on Arkansas’ 2010 spring roster, although we could find no mention of him on that season’s regular season roster.
