Vandy lineman headed to Michigan State

On the same day news surfaced that Vanderbilt cornerback Jamie Graham would be transferring to UCLA, one of Graham’s former teammates has reportedly found a new collegiate football home as well.

According to Scout.com by way of the Detroit Free Press, Commodores lineman James Kittredge will transfer to Michigan State. The school has yet to confirm Kittredge’s arrival.

Kittredge, who came to Vandy last year as an offensive lineman, will reportedly move to the defensive line when he plays for the Spartans, which won’t be until 2012 as he will to sit out this season to satisfy NCAA transfer rules.

It had previously been reported that Kittredge would not play for the Commodores in 2011 after violating unspecified university rules.

Kittredge was a three-star defensive end coming out of high school in New Jersey in 2010.
