Sooner RB arrested over traffic violation; no suspension expected

In addition to the uncertainty surrounding four Oklahoma players, including LB Ronnell Lewis, just over a week away from the start of the season, the Sooners are having to deal with a minor legal issue with one of their running backs.

However, unlike the aforementioned uncertainties, the case involving running back Johnathan Miller doesn’t look like it will result in any time missed this season. The Tulsa World writes that Miller was arrested earlier this month for failing to follow up on a court-issued fine of $394 after a Sept. 2010 traffic stop where he was issued a misdemeanor for driving without a license.

Court documents show that Miller was a no-show for March and April court-ordered meetings involving payments owed. A warrant for his arrest was then issued.

So, yeah. Dude didn’t want to pay his fines. Or show up in court to discuss not paying his fines.

When asked if there would be any disciplinary action taken on the team, coach Bob Stoops said “I don’t suspend guys for traffic tickets.”

Miller, a sophomore, is currently working his way through the running back rotation.
