‘Slight fracture’ in ankle for Ole Miss’ leading rusher

Following Ole Miss’ season-opening loss to BYU, Houston Nutt said the injury suffered by leading rusher Brandon Boldendidn’t look good”.

Fortunately for the Rebels, Nutt’s initial wasn’t as bad as the reality of the injury. Probably.

Nutt confirmed to the media Monday that Bolden had indeed fractured his ankle in the loss. The “good” news for the Rebels, though, is that Nutt said it was just a “slight fracture”.

The Jackson Clarion-Ledger reports Bolden could be back as early as the Georgia game Sept. 24, although Nutt would only say that the running back will be in a boot for a couple of weeks.

It’s still uncertain whether Bolden’s backup, Enrique Davis, will be available for the Southern Illinois game this weekend. Davis was also injured in the loss.
