Criner not healthy enough to play vs. Oklahoma State?

After Juron Criner missed his second straight practice due to an unknown illness, but with Arizona head coach Mike Stoops saying he expects the wide receiver to play, we wrote that it’s a situation that at least calls for keeping an eye on.

Based on a development this evening, it might be time if you’re a ‘Zona fan to keep both eyes squarely fixed on the situation.

While there’s been no confirmation from the school, Arizona Daily Star beat writer Ryan Finley wrote the following on his Twitter account Wednesday night: “Don’t count on #ArizonaWildcats WR Juron Criner playing. Can’t get confirmation that he traveled; even if he did, not healthy enough to go.”

Uh-oh.

It had previously been reported that Criner would travel with the team to Oklahoma City Wednesday, then bus in with his teammates to Stillwater for the Thursday game against Oklahoma State.

Criner, a first-team All-Pac-10 performer a year ago, caught six passes for 151 yards in the opener this past weekend.
