Leading Oregon State rusher doubtful for game against Badgers

[/facepalm]

As if losing what felt like a quarter of their team to preseason injuries and dropping their season-opener against 1-AA opponent Sacramento State weren’t enough, Oregon State now has to deal with yet another loss before their game against Wisconsin this weekend.

Freshman running back Malcolm Agnew, who quietly broke a freshman record at OSU for rushing yards in a game (he had 223), suffered what appeared to be a hamstring issue during Tuesday’s practice and has been ruled as doubtful for the Beavers’ upcoming game against the Badgers.

OSU coach Mike Riley said he would likely use a combination of running backs Terron Ward, Jordan Jenkins and Jovan Stevenson this weekend.

This is a really, really tough situation for Riley right now. Oregon State is dealing with a lethal combination of youth and injury problems, which promises to make this season a real challenge.
