Finally healed, Robert Marve to return for Purdue this weekend

After missing the first two games for Purdue this season, quarterback Robert Marve will be back this weekend against Southeast Missouri State, according to head coach Danny Hope.

Marve, who suffered an ACL tear last season, has spent the entire offseason rehabbing his injury, although Hope says Marve could have played last weekend in a loss to Rice.

“I think he’ll get more reps in practice, he’ll do well in practice, and he’ll be ready to go,” Hope told the Ft. Wayne News Sentinel.

Caleb TerBush will continue to start for the Boilermakers -- at least for this week -- and Marve, given the opponent, will be rotated in the game.

“It will be based on what we think is best for our team as far as getting into a rhythm,” Hope said. “We’ve had so many different players at the quarterback spot. We’re excited to have a quarterback start three games in a row.

“We want to get Robert in the game. He can help us win. We don’t have a statistical prediction on how we’re going to play him.”
