Already on one of the hottest seats in the country thanks to a disappointing 2-3 start, Houston Nutt has decided to put himself further behind the eight ball by suspending a quartet of players ahead of the Alabama game this weekend.
Nutt announced Thursday evening that running back Brandon Bolden, center AJ Hawkins, wide receiver Philander Moore and guard Alex Washington have been slapped with one-game suspensions. The reason or reasons behind the punitive measures? Unspecified violations of team rules, of course.
Bolden is the most recognizable of the four as he led the team in rushing in 2010, although injuries have limited his production in 2011. Hawkins anchors the center of the Rebels’ offensive line while Washington has started a game this season.
Moore has three receptions but, more importantly, possesses one of the greatest names in not only college football, but in sports period.
