No change among Top 10 in latest AP poll

Thirteen teams entered Week 7 with undefeated records. Just a couple days later, we’re down to a perfect 10 with unblemished records. Consequently, there wasn’t much change atop the latest Associated Press rankings.

In fact, the AP Top 10 remained exactly the same as last week’s poll.

LSU, with 41 first-place votes, maintained their position at No. 1 with No. 2 Alabama grabbing 11 first-place votes. Oklahoma, coming off a somewhat sleepy 47-17 win over Kansas, had six first-place votes.

Wisconsin, Boise State, Oklahoma State, Stanford, Clemson, Oregon and Arkansas rounded out the top 10.

West Virginia jumped up from No. 13 to No. 11 on a bye week after loses by Michigan and Georgia Tech, and undefeated Kansas State (that’s right) jumped up five spots to No. 12 after going on the road to Texas Tech and winning 41-34.

The Wolverines and Yellow Jackets dropped seven and eight spots, respectively, to No. 18 and No. 20. Illinois dropped to No. 23 after losing to Ohio State and Arizona State is tied with Georgia at No. 24 after falling on the road to Oregon. Texas and Baylor dropped out of the top 25 after losing to Oklahoma State and Texas A&M, respectively.
