T.J. McDonald good to go after migraine issue

USC’s T.J. McDonald has been dealing out hits that could induce concussion-like symptoms lately, but it’s his own noggin that required special attention over the weekend.

The junior safety was suspended for the first half of the Colorado game back on Nov. 4 for a hit he put on Stanford receiver Chris Owusu. The suspension resulted because Pac-12 officials felt McDonald targeted Owusu high, even though the hit was with McDonald’s shoulder. But, it was McDonald who had to leave Saturday’s game against Washington before the end of the first half due to concern over a possible head injury.

Turns out it was nothing more than a migraine, but McDonald stayed in the hospital overnight. He returned to the team Sunday after “tests came back in good shape” according to coach Lane Kiffin. McDonald should be good to go against Oregon this weekend.
