This was not a good weekend for the Illinois football program.
After losing 31-14 to Michigan Saturday, starting linebacker Trulon Henry was shot in the hand at a party and will miss the last two games of the regular season. Now comes word that two Illini players found themselves on the wrong side of the law in a separate incident as well.
According to the Champaign News Gazette, wide receivers Kenneth Knight and Jordan Frysinger were arrested following an on-campus incident late Saturday night. Knight was charged with aggravated battery and resisting a police officer, while Frysinger was given a notice to appear for resisting a police officer.
The News-Gazette offers some details as to what led to the legal issues:When police arrived at the scene, an officer saw blood coming out of the mouth of Kenneth Knight, 18, who listed an address on Chalmers Street in Champaign.
The officer told Knight to stand by and wait while he interviewed other people. While the officer was investigating the incident, Knight and a second person, Jordan Frysinger, 19, who listed an address on Gregory Drive in Champaign, took off running, police said.

When a second police officer caught Knight, the two men were pulled off-balance and fell to the ground, struggling with one another until another officer arrived to help handcuff Knight.The two receivers are redshirt freshmen, and neither player has caught a pass this season.
