Texas could be down top two leading rushers against Baylor

Bad news for Texas: the Longhorns will definitely be without one of their running backs for tomorrow’s game against Baylor, and another is listed as questionable.

Texas’ injury report states that freshman Joe Bergeron, the team’s second-leading rusher, is out with a hamstring injury while Malcolm Brown, the team’s leading rusher, is questionable with a knee injury.

The Longhorns should have receiver Jaxon Shipley, but trying to keep pace with Baylor without Bergeron, Fozzy Whittaker and possibly Brown? Yikes.

Good thing Baylor’s defense isn’t good at the tackling.

If I’m Texas offensive coordinator Bryan Harsin, I’m direct snapping it to Shipley 20 times. Heck, Shipley only has two touchdown passes less than Case McCoy on the season.

No, really.

Texas’ defense might be able to make a few stops against Robert Griffin III and company, but I’m not sure the offense can keep up. Youth and depth issues are usually a lethal poison. Unfortunately for Texas, they have both on offense.
