Another Sandusky accuser comes forward

Yet another alleged victim of former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky has come forward and accused Sandusky of sexual abuse, according to WHP-TV in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

According to the his lawyer, the victim, who was not part of the original eight victims in the grand jury indictment of Sandusky, was 12 years old and part of the Second Mile organization when Sandusky allegedly abused him in a Penn State athletic department office in 2004.

“When all of the publicity came out, that made him realize there were a lot more people involved than just himself,” said the victim’s attorney, Chuck Schmidt. “At the time he was vulnerable, his mom passed away, his dad was ill.”

The victim is now 19 and his attorney’s office plans to sue Sandusky, Second Mile and Penn State upon completion of an internal investigation. Local police are also investigating the claims by the alleged victim; those claims reportedly came before the victim went to Schmidt’s office.

Schmidt said the media attention surrounding the Penn State scandal gave his client “the courage to come forward and report it to authorities.”
