UConn DC interviews for Yale job

Less than a year after taking over the UConn defense, Don Brown may be headed for more intellectual pastures.

According to Desmond Conner of the Hartford Courant, the Huskies’ defensive coordinator interviewed for the Yale coaching vacancy Thursday. Conner describes Brown as one of the top candidates for the position, which the Ivy League school school hopes to fill by this time next week due to recruiting logistics.

Prior to his time at UConn, Brown served as Maryland’s defensive coordinator for two seasons. He’s also been a head coach at UMass, Northeastern and Plymouth State, and has Ivy League connections thanks to assistant stints at Brown and Dartmouth.

The Bulldogs job came open thanks to an imbroglio involving its now-former head coach, Tom Williams, and his “overstating” his connection to a Rhodes Scholarship.
