Jarrett Lee gets limited reps in NFLPA Collegiate Bowl

In addition to the East-West Shrine Bowl earlier today, over 100 draft-eligible players took part in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl this evening.

Former SMU and Eastern Washington quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell led the American team with an 8-of-17 performance for 110 yards and a touchdown. Illinois running back Jason Ford led the ground game with 26 yards.

But the story for the American team was the play -- yeah, he actually made the field this time -- of LSU quarterback Jarrett Lee. The senior went 2-of-6 for 36 yards and a touchdown.

At least he was able to reach the end zone.

For the National team, which won a meaningless 20-14 game, it was Tulsa QB G.J. Kinne and Miami QB Jacory Harris who statistically had the best performances.

I know, I had to do a double take when I saw Harris’ name too.

Kinne went 6-of-9 for 71 yards and Harris went 6-of-8 for 47 yards. I think it’s pretty safe to say the quarterbacks in tonight’s game will have to continue to impress at the combine if they’re going to have a chance to get drafted.

Syracuse running back Antwon Bailey led the National team with 48 yards on the ground, although the National spread the touches to Central Florida’s Ronnie Weaver and Houston’s Bryce Beall.
