New Day dawning on offense for Temple

A couple of weeks after losing its offensive coordinator to Auburn, Temple could be on the verge of finding a replacement.

According to the Boston Globe, the Owls have tabbed Boston College wide receivers coach Ryan Day as its new coordinator. The Globe writes that “an announcement is expected shortly.”

A Temple spokesperson told the Philadelphia Inquirer that any coaching additions would be announced this week.

A candidate to replace Kevin Rogers when the BC coordinator took a leave of absence due to medical issues last September, Day has been with the Eagles since the 2007 season. Prior to that, he was a grad assistant at Florida under Urban Meyer for one season as well as holding the same position at BC for two tears.

He’s never been a coordinator at any level, which is perhaps why the Inquirer suggests Day could carry the a co-coordinator title.

Day would at least in part replace Scot Loeffler, who was hired by Auburn as its coordinator late last month.
