UPDATED 9:45 p.m. ET: Although it’s far from confirmed, Kentucky receivers coach and former Tennessee quarterback Tee Martin could be USC’s next WR coach.
Trojans quarterback Matt Barkley tweeted this evening “Excited to welcome @TeeMartin17 to the Trojan Family as our new WR coach! Gonna be a great year!”
Martin had been rumored as a possibility to replace Ted Gilmore at USC earlier today.

Though USC reportedly filled two of its three assistant coaching needs over the weekend, the Trojans are still in the market for a wide receivers coach. Ted Gilmore, as was noted earlier this month, left for the Oakland Raiders.
According to a Los Angeles Times report, coach Lane Kiffin didn’t look far to try and find a replacement, calling new UCLA WR coach Eric Yarber.
But Yarber, who has only been with the Bruins a month after coming off a two-year stint with the Tampa Bay Bucs, declined the offer.
“I think it is flattering to Eric, and to UCLA,” Bruins Coach Jim Mora said. “It’s a signal that, so far, we have done a good job of hiring assistants.”
And a good job keeping them... so far.
“We talked,” Kiffin said. “Eric has been a successful college and NFL coach. In the end, it didn’t work out.”
