Herd adds defensive assistant

With the start of spring practice looming on the horizon, Doc Holliday (not pictured) has filled the lone hole in his Marshall coaching staff.

The Herd announced Friday via a news release that Holliday has hired J.C. Price as his new defensive line coach. Price will replace Fred Tate, who left for the same job at Texas Tech last month.

“J.C. is an excellent addition to our staff and will be a relentless recruiter for us in Maryland and Virginia,” Holliday said in a statement. “He has had tremendous success at JMU and we are eager to welcome him to the Marshall Football family.”

Price spent the past eight seasons at James as line coach as well as serving as defensive run-game coordinator. Prior to that, Price was an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Virginia Tech following his playing career with the Hokies.
