WVU CB has broken bone in foot, out for spring

A major storyline for West Virginia as they enter the Big 12 this year will be the adjustment on defense from a 3-3-5 under former defensive coordinator Jeff Casteel to more of a 3-4 base.

For the immediate future, the Mountaineers’ secondary will adjust without one of its cornerbacks.

Dana Holgorsen announced today that senior Pat Miller had successful surgery to repair a broken bone in his foot. However, the result of the surgery means Miller will miss the rest of spring practice.

Miller appeared in all 13 games last season for the Mountaineers and was fifth on the team (and first among cornerbacks) in tackles with 66. He also had two interceptions, one of which came in the first half of the Orange Bowl against Clemson. With Keith Tandy gone, Miller and Brodrick Jenkins become the veteran CBs for WVU.
