Texas Tech player hit by campus bus

Fortunately, the injuries don’t appear to be nearly as severe as the headline would suggest.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Red Raiders safety Austin Stewart was hit by a campus bus (not pictured) Wednesday morning as he was crossing a street. Stewart, who his roommate stated was driving a scooter at the time of the accident, was taken to a local hospital and was checked out be team physicians as well as trainers.

At this point in time, the injuries are said to be minor in nature, although no specific health details have been released.

Chris Payne, a Tech linebacker and Stewart’s roommate, tweeted out a picture of what he purports to be the damage done to the bus’ windshield after its run-in with the defensive back:

Tech Wreck

Stewart committed to Tech in December after spending the 2011 season in the California JUCO ranks.
