Transferring Buckeyes lineman could land at Big Ten school

As it turns out, Ohio State may not yet have seen the last of Brian Bobek on a football field.

Bobek confirmed speculation over the weekend that he would be leaving the Buckeyes for destinations unknown. The early word on the street is that the offensive lineman would be taking a visit to West Virginia at some point in the very near future, if he hasn’t already.

Bobek himself confirmed to the Columbus Dispatch that he had already received an offer from an unnamed Big 12 school; WVU will be officially moving to that conference July 1.

Additionally, Bobek told the Dispatch that he is considering transferring to a Big Ten school. The Illinois product would not name the school, although his home state would certainly be a place to start.

As noted by the Dispatch, the Big Ten recently tweaked its transfer rules that would allow a player to move to another school in the conference and be on scholarship as opposed to paying out-of-pocket for the first year. He would not be eligible to play immediately, however, and would have just two years of eligibility remaining.
