Texas A&M QB arrested for fighting

Friday morning brings both bad and good news for Texas A&M. The bad news is freshman quarterback Johnny Manziel was arrested at just before 3:30 a.m. for disorderly conduct by fighting.

The good news? Georgia knows exactly how y’all feel. So, you know, support each other and whatnot.

Anyway, in addition to his disorderly conduct charge, a Class C misdemeanor, Manziel was also hit with failure to identify and for having a fake driver’s license, per the Bryan-College Station Eagle (warning must-click: shirtless mug shot). He is currently being held in jail until he pays $6,400 in bail.

“We are disappointed in his actions and this is out of character for Johnny,” coach Kevin Sumlin said, who added that he is still gathering facts of the situation.

Manziel was a three-star recruit (Rivals.com) who signed with the Aggies in 2011 and was competing for the starting job this fall, though sophomore Jameill Showers looks to have an edge in that department.
