Cheers!
It took a few months, but the University of Minnesota’s Board of Regents finally voted to approve of alcohol sales at TCF Bank Stadium, according to KARE11 in Minneapolis-St. Paul. The vote passed 10-1.
The sale of alcohol, which could include both beer and wine, will be permitted in two specified locations on the west side of the stadium farthest away from the student section (pictured) and frat boys. Unofficially, UM could net as much as $1.5 million from the sales.
In March, the Minnesota State Senate passed a liquor bill opening the door for UM’s Board of Regents to sign off on a liquor license application for the stadium.
