We’re 50 days from the start of the college football season and TCU is looking for a new linebackers coach.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that Tony Tademy resigned earlier this week following a seven-year stint with the Horned Frogs because he wanted to spend more time with his family. Tademy is expected to take a job as an assistant at a local high school (he came to TCU in 2005 from the high school ranks).
As for who could replace Tademy in the Frogs’ 4-2-5 defense, the Star-Telegram reports through a couple of sources that former Miami coach Randy Shannon is a “leading candidate.” Shannon’s been out of work since 2010, but his emphasis has been on the linebacker group.
If nothing else, it wouldn’t really be a coaching vacancy unless Shannon’s name was in the mix.
