Though unexpectedly denied admission to Florida because of an academic issue, defensive tackle Dante Phillips will stay in the SEC East.
Phillips’ new Twitter handle is @knoxvillebound -- subtle, I know -- and the (sort of) former Gator tweeted that Knoxville “might be my new home.” Phillips also said he was considering Western Kentucky and UM (presumably Miami).
Zach Abolverdi of the Gainesville Sun tweeted that he expected Phillips to sign with the Vols.
Phillips was a four-star member of UF’s 2012 recruiting class, according to Rivals.com.
