As if it needed to be any more intimidating, LSU’s Tiger Stadium will be getting additional seating in its south end zone to push total capacity near 100,000.
The Louisiana State Bond Commission approved the renovations, which total $75 million, on Thursday. Construction is set to begin this fall and should be completed by 2014.
The new plans include adding 60 suites, approximately 3,000 club seats and general seating for up to another 1,500 people above the existing south end zone. Two new video boards will be inserted as well.
The additional seating will put LSU just behind Alabama and Tennessee in largest SEC football stadiums.
