You smell that? Yep, the 2012 season is right around the corner.
The coaches’ preseason Top 25 is highlighted by, as expected, the SEC, with five of the conference’s seven teams in the Top 25 littered among the Top 10.
LSU and Alabama, the two teams that battled for the 2011 BcS title, are ranked 1-2 by the coaches, with No. 3 USC the only other team to receive first-place votes from the coaches.
CFT’s preseason Top 25 disagrees with the coaches -- especially as it pertains to the Top 5 -- and is closer in line with the AP’s poll, which has the Trojans leading the way.
