Guess Cal does value the idea of “student-athletes” at least a little bit.
The school announced this afternoon that quarterback Zach Maynard would not start for the Bears today because of a missed tutoring appointment in early summer. Maynard is expected to play, however.
Cal faces off against Nevada any minute now. Maynard had just over 2,800 yard passing last year and 17 touchdowns.
