Updated 9/6 @ 9:38 p.m. ET: Welp, things could be getting a lot worse for LSU regarding the injury to offensive lineman Chris Faulk. The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports Thursday that Faulk is likely to miss the season with a major knee injury.
The school, however, has not offered an official statement on the subject.
If true, there’s no understating the loss. Faulk is projected to be a first-round pick for next year’s NFL draft. Losing him for any amount of time could hurt as LSU’s offensive line did allow some pressure on quarterback Zach Mettenberger in its Week 1 game against North Texas.

While Washington prepares for LSU by utilizing a live tiger, it appears the Huskies will not have to worry about Tigers offensive lineman Chris Faulk.
Les Miles announced Wednesday that Faulk would miss this Saturday’s game against the Huskies with an unidentified injury.
“It looks like Faulk’s got a bit of an injury, we don’t know exactly how bad,” Miles said. “We hope to return him to the game sometime soon.”
How soon isn’t entirely known. Until Faulk (pictured, No. 76) is cleared to return, Miles said sixth-year senior Josh Dworaczyk, sophomore La’El Collins or right tackle Alex Hurs could see playing time
“We’re kind operating with the idea that we’re moving guys around to give them a multiple feel for the position,” Miles said. “No decision is going to be made right now as to how we’ll go Saturday. We feel pretty comfortable we’ll be good there.”
