Arkansas still in USA Today coaches’ poll; LSU leaps USC

The good news for Arkansas is that SIDs coaches around college football still believe in the Hogs despite an upset loss in Week 2 to Louisiana-Monroe.

Rather than being dropped from the top 25, as was the case with the Associated Press poll, Arkansas fell 11 spots from No. 10 to No. 21.

Alabama remained atop the coaches’ poll, pulling in 42 first-place votes. LSU, which fell two spots to No. 3 last week, gained one spot back and jumped USC for the No. 2 spot. Oregon and Oklahoma come in at No. 4 and No. 5. Florida State, Georgia, West Virginia, South Carolina and Michigan State round out the top 10.

Wisconsin, previously ranked at No. 13, has fallen to No. 22 after losing to Oregon State; Nebraska, following its loss to UCLA, dropped 10 spots to No. 24. Spots 11-15 are now made up of Clemson, Texas, Virginia Tech, Kansas State and TCU. Stanford, Florida, Michigan, Notre Dame and Louisville complete the top 20.

Entering this week’s USA Today poll are UCLA (No. 23) and Arizona (No. 25). Dropping out are Oklahoma State (previously No. 18) and Boise State.
