Louisiana-Monroe’s stunning upset of Arkansas, the one that dropped the Razorbacks out of the Associated Press poll completely, has netted the star of the game a major national honor.
The Walter Camp Foundation announced Sunday morning that ULM quarterback Kolton Browning has been named the national Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the 34-31 overtime win over the then-No. 8 Razorbacks.
Browning accounted for 481 yards of total offense and four touchdowns in the upset. The junior set career highs in highs in passing yards (412), completions (42) and attempts (67). Three of his touchdowns were through the air, while the other score was a 16-yard run (pictured) in the first overtime on fourth down that was the final game-losing dagger for the Hogs.
Georgia linebacker Jarvis Jones was also named the Camp Defensive Player of the Week. In No. 7 Georgia’s 21-point win on the road against new SEC member Missouri, Jones totaled nine tackles (six solo) two sacks, one interception and one fumble.
