Mizzou TE checks out fine after being carted off the field

Missouri tight end Eric Waters needed to be carted off the field in the final minutes of Saturday’s 42-10 victory over the Tigers. Fortunately for him and the team, the injury doesn’t appear to be serious.

Waters was tackled out of bounds after a catch and landed awkwardly on his back, his head taking a hard bounce off the turf. He laid on the ground for several minutes before being taken from the sidelines. After the game, A team spokesman said Waters underwent a CT scan and an MRI, which came back normal.

As of this morning, the official word on Waters is that he has a muscle strain and stayed in the hospital overnight. However, he is set to rejoin the team today. His status going forward is unclear.

Waters has four receptions for 27 yards on the season.
